You know the saying, "if you don't have anything nice to say, you shouldn't say anything at all"? Well, a growing number of companies are bringing lawsuits against some of its customers who don't abide by that old adage.
A case is being celebrated by Internet ideologists as a recognition of what they already knew to be true: search engines have free speech rights. But if search engines are speaking, what in the heck are they saying?
Currently amounting to a legislative compromise of our right to be free from harassment and defamation in exchange for unfettered protection of innovation and our freedom of expression, it is time to revisit the negotiating table and challenge the status quo.
